Dating from 1951, the Model Town is a 1/10th scale accurate diorama of Wimborne town centre in the 1950s. Set in mature gardens with plenty of seating, You can get really close up and even touch the buildings, checking out every minute detail of over 100 shop fronts.The fun family worksheets suitable for all age groups are provided free of charge, lead you through the many Streets and Lanes including the colourful prize-winning gardens.Wendy Street is a designated safe play area for younger visitors. The Railway Room has a six track push button 00 gauge nostalgic railway with Thomas working most days. Our Exhibition Room features the illuminated Beryl Dade dolls house collection together with our new school corner – recreating a classroom of the 1950s.Our Tea Room, open to all, offers breakfast baps, morning coffee and cake, light lunches and delicious afternoon teas.
