Backhouse bet is an Independent Bookmaker, originally established in 1921.

The group has always had strong West Country connections with trading shops within a 60 mile radius of the head office at Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.

In 2010 the company acquired six shops in Worcester; Wokingham; Daventry and Welwyn Garden City.

In March 2011 another shop was opened on the outskirts of Tewkesbury at Northway.

Backhouse bet are a founder member of the Betting Technology Consortium.

This is a group of independent bookmakers who have pooled their resources to produce their own odds for a wide range of events.
