Volunteers Receive Well-Deserved Recognition

The dedicated volunteers behind Wimborne in Bloom’s “Monday Morning Gang” have been shortlisted for a prestigious Radio Solent Make a Difference Award in the Environmental category.

The group, made up of local volunteers, plays a vital role in helping to keep Wimborne looking attractive and welcoming throughout the year. From caring for flower displays and planting schemes to maintaining public spaces around the town, the team contributes countless hours of work to enhance the local environment.

As part of the award nomination, volunteer Chris Hooker was invited to speak on BBC Radio Solent, highlighting the group’s efforts and the positive impact they have on the community. The interview provided an opportunity to showcase the dedication and enthusiasm that have made the Monday Morning Gang such a valued part of Wimborne life.

The nomination is a fitting recognition for a team whose hard work often takes place behind the scenes but makes a visible difference across the town every day.
