Wimborne Osteopathic Clinic has welcomed osteopath, Alexa Carrière, to its growing team. With a background that blends clinical expertise, movement training, and a deep interest in whole‑person wellbeing, Alexa is the perfect fit, mirroring the clinic’s ethos.
A Path Shaped by Movement and Curiosity
Originally from Vancouver, Alexa’s early life was shaped by sport, dance, and theatre — experiences that sparked her long‑standing fascination with how people move and express themselves. After training as a yoga instructor, she went on to complete a Master’s in Osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, where she also studied naturopathy and nutrition. This combination of disciplines now informs her thoughtful, integrated approach to treatment.
A Gentle, Collaborative Style
Alexa describes her treatment style as gentle, attentive, and highly individualised. “I really enjoy working with patients to find the root of complex pain and unravelling the many layers to health,” she explains. “My treatment style is gentle but always tailored to the individual.” She has particular interests in headaches and tension‑related discomfort, posture‑driven pain, and persistent or complex pain patterns that require a careful, investigative approach. Her aim is to help patients feel understood, supported, and more confident in their bodies.
Clinic owner Rona Jones says the team is thrilled to have Alexa on board. “I am delighted to welcome Alexa to the clinic team. She’s warm and engaging and a great osteopath; I think patients are going to love her approach.”
Strengthening a Clinic Focused on Whole‑Person Care
Alexa joins a team known for supporting a wide range of musculoskeletal concerns. The clinic regularly helps patients with back and neck pain, joint and mobility issues, posture‑related discomfort, pregnancy‑related pain, headaches linked to tension, and the ongoing challenges of arthritic stiffness. In addition to hands‑on osteopathic treatment, the clinic also offers Pilates sessions (at Wimborne Community Centre), giving patients a structured way to build strength, improve stability, and support their recovery between appointments. The approach is holistic, combining movement, education, and personalised care.
