After a 10-year absence, Wimborne Round Table is being relaunched, alongside a revival of the town’s 41 Club. This new initiative, supported by members from nearby clubs in Bournemouth, Shaftesbury, Ringwood and Christchurch, is breathing fresh life into the local social and service movement. The clubs have an exciting program of fun activities planned for the coming months and are actively seeking new members to DO MORE and IGNITE YOUR SOCIAL LIFE.
What is Round Table?
Round Table is a global organisation for young men aged 18-45, focused on forging friendships, organising social activities, and supporting local communities through charity work. With over 3,500 members in the UK, it provides a fantastic platform for personal development, offering opportunities to build skills in event management and leadership. It is part of a wider “family” of clubs that cater to other ages and genders:
- 41 Club: For former Round Table members and men aged 45+.
- Ladies Circle: A similar organisation for women aged 18-45.
- Tangent: For former Ladies Circle members.
While Wimborne is restarting its Round Table and 41 Club, nearby Bournemouth has an active Tangent Club and is also working to restart its Ladies Circle.
An exciting programme of activities is already in the diary for the coming months, including:
- Skittles
- A curry night
- Brewery tour at 8 Arch
- Paintballing
- Sim racing
- Wine tasting
- Pub sports
The group will also be supporting the Wimborne Save The Children Parade on December 13th by providing marshals and support on the ground.
Phil Timings, Wimborne resident and member of Bournemouth Round Table, said:
“I’ve been in Roun Table for around 13 years now, first joining when we moved to a new town in Devon. Over the years I’ve made so many great friends, taken part in activities that I never thought I would get the chance to do, and been a part of raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities and local causes.
Just this year alone, Round Table has taken me to India for the RTI World Meeting, I’ve travelled through 10 countries across Europe in the Skinflint Rally (we bought the car for less than £5), as well as taken part in lots of local socials and events.
The chance to bring Round Table back to Wimborne is exciting, and I hope that others in the town will benefit the way I have over the years.”
Come Along and Find Out More!
We would love to meet as many people as possible who might enjoy being part of this fantastic organisation. New members are warmly welcomed to both clubs. If you’re interested in making new friends, developing new skills, and supporting your local community, please get in touch.
