Wimborne In Bloom Open Gardens Day Raises Over £5,500 for Town Beautification

The Wimborne in Bloom Open Gardens Day held on Sunday 29th June has once again proven to be a cherished community success, drawing over 450 visitors to explore 20 delightful gardens in and around the town.

From 11am to 5pm, attendees enjoyed the floral diversity and hospitality of local garden owners. With an entry fee of just £8 covering all garden visits, the event offered outstanding value and a picturesque way to spend a summer’s day. Teas were served in five of the gardens, providing a refreshing moment of rest for visitors amid their blooming tour.

John Allen, Wimborne in Bloom Committee Member and event co-ordinator, shared his enthusiasm:

“There were over 450 visitors and it was a warm and sunny day. Although the final figures are yet to be confirmed, over £5,500 was raised for Wimborne in Bloom Funds—all of which will go towards the provision of plants for the Flower Towers, planters and hanging baskets around the centre of town and the watering thereof until the end of summer.”

Mr Allen also extended his appreciation to Christopher Batten Estate Agents, whose continued support played a vital role in the event’s success.

Upcoming Event: Duck Race Returns! Wimborne in Bloom invites the public to its next community event—the ever-popular Annual Duck Race—scheduled for Saturday 23rd August as part of the August Bank Holiday weekend festivities. Tickets will be available in the town during the days leading up to the race.
