Hear Hear for Wimborne’s Private Ear Clinic as it Celebrates Ten Years in Business

A leading, independent private ear clinic is celebrating a decade of helping people hear.

Since its founding in 2015, The Private Ear Clinic has been dedicated to improving patients’ lives with expert diagnosis and personalized treatment plans, providing exceptional ear care and hearing health services to the local community.

The Private Ear Clinic is an independent, family-run business with clinics in Wimborne, Milford-on-Sea, Romsey and Hythe.

At the helm of the business is husband and wife team, managing directors Nigel and Penny Stannard and their daughter Bethany who is assistant managing director.

This entrepreneurial family started the business from scratch following the NHS decision to withdraw a range of vital ear-care services from NHS hospitals and surgeries.

Penny is a fully qualified hearing therapist and audiologist, who previously worked for Dorset Health Care and in major hospitals across the south. She is also the only audiologist in the region who specialises in tinnitus management. With Nigel and Bethany working behind the scenes, it’s a great set up!

Penny Stannard said: “We’re unique in that all our staff, which now numbers 16 are all NHS trained. Every audiologist, every aural practitioner has an extremely high level of expertise and skillset.”

She added: “We’re extremely proud that our Wimborne manager Emma Smith, who has been with us since we opened in the town, is the only NHS recognised trainer for Aural Care in the whole of the south.”

The Wimborne branch is based in the High Street. It boasts a purpose-built clinic with state-of-the-art treatment rooms and a soundproof hearing test booth – all built by another member of the family – Bethany’s husband Scott.

Bethany said: “Scott worked day and night to strip out the building and create a space that our customers would feel comfortable in.”

The Private Ear Clinic is a pioneer in audiology and ear health care, offering state-of-the-art solutions for hearing loss, tinnitus management and earwax removal.

Penny Stannard explained: “We use the best equipment in the field including surgical microscopes which allows us to completely see into the ear. Unlike other audiologist services, we are CQC registered and offer Syringing, Microsuction and manual removal options, to ensure our clients get the care they deserve.

With a patient-first approach and expert care, the clinic has built a reputation for excellence in the field. It is recognised as a centre of training excellence in aural care, working in conjunction with the NHS to support new professionals coming into the industry.

Bethany Stannard adds; “We offer a complete follow-through service from ear examinations and wax removal to hearing tests and fitting hearing aids.  We support patients from as young as three years old upwards.

“We’ve seen over 95,000 ears and counting and would like to thank all our customers for their loyal support.”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, vouchers are being distributed across the region, giving everyone discounts on their popular wax removal service. The team invites loyal patients and new visitors to come anytime to learn more about the importance of ear health as well as discover more about their loyalty scheme.
